What's better than live music? Live music around the city. La Blogotheque runs a video podcast "the take-away shows" that features a new artist/band every week. They invite new artists to play around the streets of different cities (Paris for the most part, but not only) as they follow them around capturing the whole experience on film. The best part, in my opinion anyway, is that none of it gets edited out. It's as personal and perfectly imperfect as you'd hope any podcast to be. They feature a great array of talented artist/bands. Amongst them one of my favorites: "Jens Lekman".
Jens Lekman has a gift for writing songs that speak straight from the heart. Sweet but never corny or cheesy. He also puts on a great live show. So If he's ever around town, check him out and show your support... Or if you'd prefer just browse around La Blogotheque for more of Jens Lekman or other amazing artists/bands of your choice as there are many to pick and choose from. Now all that's left to do is pick a destination.
