Where have we BEEN?!??!

Well honestly, we've been SUPER busy running from festival to festival promoting the bands and getting ready for new releases and big tours!

Where to begin?

Well let's start with Great Northern's welcome home. The show was PACKED at Spaceland where The Comas and Great Northern rounded out the end of their tour with a short stop at home before heading up the west coast to wrap in Seattle. You can find out more about the tour on their Virb Tour page or on their Filter TOURzine!

Next up was Irving playing their first show in the states since returning from their European tour at the Echoplex. Rounding out the night was Midnight Movies, Gore Gore Girls and Architects. The band played a stellar set of old favourites and some new surprises as well!

Then came Sunset Junction where Division Day played a STELLAR set featuring some of the new tracks from their upcoming Beartrap Island due out Oct 2nd (*Sept 18th on iTunes!). The set was cut short due to the band before them running over, but not before we got to hear "Ricky" and "Catch Your Death". Here are some pics:

Next up was Fuck Yeah Fest! where Great Northern turned up again for another killer L.A. homecoming show packed to the brim with the likes of Karen O in the audience! The band is off to the Detroit Bar tonite with SoftLightes for the OC Weekly party, then it's on to play the Live 105 stage at the Comcast Art and Soul Festival on Sept 1st in Oakland with Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, Against Me!, Audrye Sessions, Lovemakers, etc and then back in San Pedro for the Port of Los Angeles Lobsterfest on Sept 15th. There are scheduled dates with Ladytron and Robbers on High Street so keep checking back for more info.

Goldenboy and The Rentals have been continuing their non-stop trek across the country and have been through the midwest, New York, and are currently somewhere between North Carolina and Tennessee. We haven't heard from them in a while, but the reviews have continued to roll in, so we know all must be well!

Scissors for Lefty have been taking some much-needed time off, but they'll be back to rock out the Detour Festival which features Bloc Party, Justice, Satellite Party, Kinky, Comedians of Comedy, Turbonegro, Teddybears, Moving Units, The Raveonettes, Shout Out Louds, Autolux, Celebrity Skin, The Aliens, The Aggrolites, Busy P, DJ Mehdi, SebastiAn, Kavinsky, So Me, Noisettes, Cool Kids, The Deadly Syndrome, Scissors for Lefty, Johnossi, Augie March, Nico Vega, Franki Chan, Travis Keller, Bruce Perdew so don't make ANY plans for that weekend or you will SURELY miss out on the FIRST major fall party!

For now we're gearing up for the release of Beartrap Island, Scissors for Lefty's new tour (announcement shortly, it's a GOOD ONE!!), and finalized dates for Great Northern. We'll also bring you the Goldenboy/The Rentals tour wrap up and a full report from CMJ, so stay tuned!

Ciao!
