Great Northern to play the L.A. Plug City Highlights show

Hello and Happy New Year to all!

The EMR staff is excited to be back in the office, and Santa has been good to us. We have a new speaker set and mixing board (with new receiver and CD console arriving soon!) Someone around here likes us and wants us to hear our music at the highest quality imaginable. I blasted a little Feist this afternoon and the people in the next room thought it was me singing at the top of my lungs. As soon as we get the hang of it, we're going to start the Eenie Meenie Office Sessions... bands submit your setlists now; we're gonna be REALLY picky.

The big EMR news (besides the back to back San Francisco shows this weekend with Oranger and Goldenboy) is the Great Northern appearance at the L.A. installment of the Plug City Highlights Tour to celebrate the Plug Awards in New York City on Feb. 10th. They are having a contest to see who'll open the show and the submissions are being accepted until Jan. 7th, so if you're a local Los Angeles band interested in playing with Great Northern, fill out the form on the page and cross your fingers. The show will be at the Little Radio Warehouse on Jan. 13th.

There'll be more info as it becomes available and don't forget to plan for the Great Northern tour beginning Jan. 20th in Long Beach.

Songs heard in the office today included:

Running Up That Hill, Placebo
Breed, Nirvana
Do You Love Me Still?, The Kooks
Inside and Out, Feist
Store Bought Bones, The Raconteurs
I Fought the Law, The Clash
Home, Great Northern
Situation, Irving
After the Gold Rush, Thom Yorke

Ciao,
CR
