Great Northern ROCKED last nite!

If you were lucky enough to be at Pershing Square last night for the latest installment of Spaceland on Ice featuring The Submarines and Eenie Meenie's own, Great Northern, then we can bet you went home in a good mood!

The evening begin with a great set by the Submarines, showing their diversity by including some holiday-style instrumentation. Then with a short break and a quick go-round of the old zamboni, the late session skaters took the ice and Great Northern took the stage.

They played obvious crowd favourites: Home, The Middle and Low is a Height. And by the end of the set they'd easily won over everyone in the crowd who just showed up to skate or had never heard GN. The new record is due out in May and the live versions we got to hear last nite were a great preview of the upcoming tour.

Check out the Eenie Meenie myspace page for a slideshow courtesy of Modernbrit and yours truly.

Here's another pic, this one of Schimonie and friends skating. Word has it there were no bouts with gravity for the girls as they went around and around to the sounds of Great Northern.

Tonite head on over to El Cid on for Goldenboy w/ Fishtank Ensemble and Dressy Bessy.

Ciao!
